Chicken BBQThe Lindsey Volunteer Fire Department holds two chicken barbecues, spring and fall each year, as part of its fundraising activities. The chicken is grilled on a coal fired pit with the departments signature BBQ sauce. Dinners are offered in an adult and child portion to accommodate everyone. The adult portion consists of a half chicken and the child portion is a quarter chicken. All dinners are served with Ole Zim's potato salad, roll and butter, pickles, celery, carrots, ice cream and a drink. Patrons can either dine in the shelter house at the park or pick up a carry-out through the drive-thru. All proceeds are used by the department to purchase new tools and equipment.
